Use only this Datapipe project’s authorized data. Discover the connected accounts, datasets and compatible fields first. Confirm dates, timezones, currencies and data coverage. Keep missing or unmatched rows visible; never substitute sample data. Compare the sources explicitly and explain every match. Do not change source records or send messages.

Read Mailchimp Campaign link clicks for the sent campaign I select. Return campaign ID, destination URL, total clicks, unique clicks and read timestamp. Retain UTM parameters for matching. Explain the cumulative reporting window and automated-click caveat; do not sum unique clicks across links as unique people.

Check current stock before we repeat the newsletter. What should change in the plan? Read the actual current records behind the shortlist. Show which source supports each observation, distinguish causes from hypotheses, and propose one specific next step.

Implementation tips for this use case

Match product URLs to current handles and inventory. Investigate stock, variants and the page experience where the journey needs attention. A current stock snapshot does not establish the cause of historical campaign performance.

behind this example.

How to review the journey from email click to product page
  1. Choose one sent campaign and capture its links.

Read Mailchimp Campaign link clicks for an explicit campaign ID. Retain each destination URL and cumulative unique/total clicks at the read timestamp. Unique counts are not additive across links and can include automated activity.

  2. Match tagged traffic to GA4.

Confirm the UTM campaign, source/medium and landing page. Query compatible GA4 session and purchase-event reports for the send-to-review window. Validate tracking and attribution scope before comparing results.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you start.

Why do Mailchimp clicks and GA4 sessions differ?

They are different measures with different tracking and reporting rules. Automated clicks, repeat visits, consent, tagging and session definitions can all affect the comparison.

Can this show every Shopify order caused by an email?

Not from these totals alone. GA4 attribution and order-level matching need their own validated identifiers and scope. This workflow prepares a product and tracking investigation.
