01

Find paid orders with work remaining

Use only this project’s authorized data sources. Discover the accounts, datasets and fields first. Confirm the account, review timezone and reporting coverage. Preserve missing data instead of substituting examples.

Read Shopify Orders (GraphQL) for a creation-date window that covers our fulfillment review. Return ID, name, createdAt, cancelledAt, displayFinancialStatus and displayFulfillmentStatus. Keep paid, non-cancelled orders that are unfulfilled or partially fulfilled, and show the exact UTC dates and order-history limits.
02

Separate order states for review

Read the full prompt
Group those returned orders by unfulfilled and partially fulfilled status. Calculate time since order creation using an explicit review time. Keep holds, cancelled orders, other payment states and missing data separate. Do not call age a shipping delay without a promised fulfillment date.
03

Prepare the warehouse check

Read the full prompt
Prepare a focused list with order name, current payment/fulfillment status, creation date and next check. Ask the team to verify remaining items, location inventory, holds and warehouse ownership in Shopify. Do not fulfill orders, promise a ship date or update order status.

03 · USE WHAT YOU FIND

Check the remaining items and holds before promising a ship date.

  1. 01

Read orders created in the window using current status fields.

  2. 02

Keep paid, non-cancelled orders that still have fulfillment work.

  3. 03

Review remaining items, inventory, holds, and warehouse ownership in Shopify.

Check the result at your next review.

At the next review, re-read current order statuses for a creation window broad enough to include the backlog. Use appropriate fulfillment history to measure delivery performance.

Implementation tips for this use case

Open the relevant orders in Shopify, confirm what remains, and review holds and location availability before assigning fulfillment or promising a shipping date.

WHEN YOU NEED MORE CONTEXT

Go a little deeper.

The method and reporting checks
behind this example.

How to find paid orders with fulfillment work remaining
  1. Choose the order creation window.

Use Orders (GraphQL) for orders created within the selected UTC dates. Expand the window if older unfulfilled orders matter. Shopify normally restricts older order access unless the store has separately approved history access.

  2. Separate payment from fulfillment.

Read order ID/name, createdAt, cancelledAt, displayFinancialStatus and displayFulfillmentStatus. Keep paid, non-cancelled orders that are unfulfilled or partially fulfilled. Keep holds and other statuses distinct.

  3. Verify the remaining fulfillment work.

Check the remaining items, warehouse, location availability and any holds in Shopify before assigning the next step. Current status does not reconstruct past shipments, and age since creation is not proof of a delay.

Order 1051 is paid and unfulfilled. Order 1056 is paid and partially fulfilled. Neither is cancelled in this example. Their ages are time since creation, not measured shipping delays.

Data method, reporting checks & sources

Read Shopify Orders (GraphQL), filtered by order creation dates in UTC, with current displayFinancialStatus, displayFulfillmentStatus and cancelledAt. Use current status for this review; report dates do not reconstruct earlier fulfillment state.

A created-date window can omit older unfulfilled orders. Shopify order-history permissions apply. Order age alone does not establish a late shipment or promise fulfillment availability.

  • The order creation window includes the relevant backlog.
  • Paid, non-cancelled and partially fulfilled states are handled explicitly.
  • Age since creation is kept separate from fulfillment promises.
  • An authorized Shopify store with order-read access.
  • A creation-date window that covers the orders you need to review.
  • Separate review of holds, remaining items, and fulfillment availability.

For blended reports, align dates, normalized URLs, and reporting grain. Query-level search rows must not duplicate page-level sessions. This is an illustrative workflow; live accounts and destinations need their own setup.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you start.

Will a recent order-date window include every unfulfilled order?

No. Orders are selected by creation date, so older outstanding orders can be omitted. Expand the window and account for Shopify order-history permissions.

Does an order created three days ago mean it is late?

Not by itself. You need the fulfillment promise, processing rules, holds and order context to judge lateness. This workflow identifies current work remaining.
