Dashboards are the product
Free includes one dashboard. Paid plans add more, plus goals and anomaly detection. That is a real reason to pick Databox.
Databox keeps metrics, goals, and an AI analyst in its own workspace. Datapipe is the layer that refreshes a Sheet, a file, or your BigQuery, then waits for the owner before it changes a supported source.
Your Sheet or BigQuery · Not a replacement dashboard · Owner-approved writes
Databox publishes dashboards and Genie. Datapipe publishes destinations you already open, plus an approval step for writes.
Databox's pricing page is about governed metrics, dashboards, and AI credits. Datapipe does not ask you to adopt a new dashboard. Reports land in Sheets, Drive, or BigQuery.
| Topic | Databox | Datapipe |
|---|---|---|
| Where people look | Databox dashboards and reports. Free includes 1. Paid analyst and team plans include more. | The destination you pick. Sheets and Drive are on every plan. BigQuery is on Pro and Agency. Data Studio reads the Sheet. |
| How fresh | Daily on Free. Hourly is the listed maximum on Analyst, Team, and Agency rows. They note that a provider may be slower. | Daily on Free and Starter, hourly on Pro, every 15 minutes on up to 50 Agency sources. |
| AI | Genie is included from Free, with a monthly credit pool. MCP is listed from Analyst upward. | Claude or ChatGPT can read one project. There is no AI credit counter on the Datapipe plans. The connector cannot write. |
| Changing the source | The pages we checked describe analytics, sync, and AI questions. They do not describe owner-approved edits back into Shopify, HubSpot, or an ad account. | Supported writes start off. A person or an AI proposes. The owner approves the exact change. Examples include Shopify prices, HubSpot records, and daily budgets on Amazon Ads, X Ads, and StackAdapt. |
| Counting sources | Each account or property is a data source. Their page uses 3 GA4 properties as 3 data sources. | The same rule: one account in one project is one data source. A second project is another. |
| Price | Free, then Analyst at $71 a month billed annually, and Team at $199 or $319 a month billed annually on the self-serve page. | Free includes 3 data sources and a daily refresh. Starter is $15 a month for 25. Pro is $49 for 100, with hourly refresh and your own BigQuery. Agency is $199 for 500, with a 15-minute refresh on up to 50 of them. Every plan includes unlimited projects. |
Databox figures are from databox.com/pricing, checked 6 Nov 2026, and are the billed-annually amounts they show. We did not treat a missing write-back description as proof they can never change a record.
Databox is the place the metric lives. Datapipe is useful when marketing already works in a Sheet, when finance wants BigQuery, or when someone should fix a source record only after the owner has seen the diff.
Free includes one dashboard. Paid plans add more, plus goals and anomaly detection. That is a real reason to pick Databox.
Free syncs daily. Analyst and Team list hourly as the fastest sync, and they say a provider can be slower.
Free includes Genie and 50 AI credits. The MCP server is listed from Analyst up, not on the free row.
People keep working in Sheets or BigQuery. Supported edits still wait for the owner.

Questions before you start
Dashboards and a governed metric layer are a real product. This page does not talk them down.
Databox's pricing page describes dashboards, metrics, goals, anomaly detection, and an AI analyst called Genie. Their integration page says you can connect 130+ tools, plus spreadsheets, databases, and a REST API on plans that include custom integrations.
Their pricing table lists an MCP server starting on the Analyst plan, not on Free. AI use draws from a monthly credit pool (50 on Free, 150 on Analyst, 500 or 1,000 on Team). Datapipe's project connector does not use a credit meter. It is read-only, and it is documented for Claude and ChatGPT.
Choose Databox when the team should live in Databox dashboards and ask Genie about governed metrics. Choose Datapipe when the deliverable is a Sheet, a Drive file, or your own BigQuery, and when a supported source change should be proposed and owner-approved instead of staying inside a dashboard.
The self-serve pricing page lists Free at $0 for 1 user, 3 data sources, and 1 dashboard, with a daily sync. Analyst is $71 a month billed annually for 1 user and 5 data sources, with hourly sync. Team is $199 or $319 a month billed annually (3 users and 10 sources, or 10 users and 30 sources). A data source is an account or property, so three GA4 properties count as three. Agency packaging is on a separate Databox page.
