What you can do with Trello

Read and report

Read accessible current cards in one open board, including archived cards, with their titles, descriptions, lists, due times and last activity.

Explore metrics and dimensions

Write with owner approval

Eligible teammates can propose the supported changes listed below. The owner reviews the exact values and approves every proposed change before it is applied to Trello.

Read & report

Share the current board inventory

Refresh cards and their list identifiers for the delivery update. Keep archive state and due times visible in the report.

Owner-approved write

Review a card's due time

Propose an exact UTC due date and time for an open original card. The owner reviews the change before it is applied to the approved board.

Supported Trello write actions

Writes start disabled. The owner enables permitted actions and eligible teammates. Only fields supported by an enabled action can be proposed; some actions also support individual owner-selected writable fields.

Update approved card fields

Updates owner-selected title, plain text description or exact UTC due date/time on open original cards in the approved board. Descriptions replace formatting/links. Trello automations and due-date notifications may run. Outside edits can race execution. No mirror cards, moves, members, comments, completion, archive, creation or deletion.

The owner selects supported writable fields for this action before teammates can propose changes.

Every team member's change needs owner approval

  1. The owner sets access

Choose the connection, permitted actions and eligible teammates. Select individual writable fields where the action supports it.

  2. A teammate proposes a change

Choose an existing record and propose specific supported values. A proposal does not apply the change.

  3. The owner reviews the difference

Check the current and proposed values, then approve that individual change. Changed records or permissions require a fresh review.

  4. Datapipe records the result

View the result in the audit history. An uncertain write is not automatically retried.

Provider permissions and workflows still apply. Source automations or notifications may react to approved changes.

Connected assistants can read available reports. Source changes use the separate Actions & approvals workflow in Datapipe.

Ask AI about your data

Claude or ChatGPT can read the same numbers. You ask in a normal sentence, and the answer stays with your report.

Use an assistant to understand the reports. Propose source changes separately in Datapipe, where the owner reviews and approves every change.
